Suppressors like Poseidon work best when running wet (use an ablative medium to slow and cool the expanding gases). I still owe you all a media comparison, but for now I prefer Inland Manufacturing's DB foam simply because it stays in the muffler instead of blowing out the muzzle. Filling the Poseidon with DB foam lasts for about 12 rounds, decreasing suppression with each subsequent shot.
Sure, the rubber canvas takes a beating, but it's better than you might expect. Unfortunately, the ATF considers the wipers to be muffler parts, so it's technically not allowed to replace them yourself (even if it's a simple process). But any FFL can order a replacement canvas from Thompson and have it installed for you in less than a minute.
I really like this Federal Premium Syntech series of ammo for pressure shooting - it's both clean and quiet, and all but the longest barrel stays sonic. The Hydra-Shok is a supersonic round, but is suitable for the G43 as a personal protection round.
The Poseidon's mono core has three chambers, just enough to keep it really quiet with subsonic ammunition and a few bits of liquid or foam.

As an aside, the G43 received a visual upgrade from XS Sights. The new F8 sites are bright, usable and easy to install. Brownells stocks them here.
When using the right ammo, with a little ablative and a fresh wipe, the Thompson Poseidon is about as quiet as any quality full-size silencer. It is small, lightweight and easy to maintain. Best of all, when paired with a subcompact, pocket-sized pistol, it's a lot of fun in a small package.

Silencerco Barrels: Beretta, Glock, H&k, Sig Sauer And Smith & Wesson
Switzerland's B&T AG (formerly Brügger & Thomet AG) has introduced a new silencer aimed at the .380 subcompact market. The suppressor comes with a barrel for a Glock 42 or SIG P238 pistol. Designed to be smaller than other suppressors, it still provides hearing-safe sound suppression of about 28db (about the same as a pair of earplugs).
